Frequently Asked
Questions

Do I need to have any choir experience?

Nope! Our members have a variety of musical experiences and backgrounds, from complete novices to professionals. All are welcome to join, regardless of whether you’ve had prior musical experience.

Do I have to audition?

No audition is required to join our group. If you don’t know which section (soprano, alto, tenor or bass) you belong in, we’re happy to help with placement.

What type of music do you perform?

Our group performs a variety of music, typically including some folk, musical theatre, pop, contemporary choral, etc. We also take requests each year from members.

How do I join?

We accept new members (ages 18+) in September and January each year. We are now running a waitlist for altos and sopranos. If you are interested in being on our waiting list, please fill in this form (first come, first serve): https://forms.gle/4YQZKgeGypoNMrgh7

Tenors and basses are welcome to join us in September and January without being on the waitlist – please contact us directly.

What are the fees to join?

Our fees for the 2025-26 season are still being set; typically our fees are around $220 for the full season, separated into two payments as needed. We accept payments via e-transfer, cash or credit card.

When and where do you rehearse?

We rehearse at Roncesvalles United Church at 214 Wright Ave in Toronto. Rehearsals run 7:15-9:15pm on Monday evenings. No rehearsals on holiday Mondays. Our season typically runs September-May each year.

What is the choir’s vibe?

We’re a queer-led, inclusive, and community-focused choir where everyone is welcome—no matter your background, identity, or experience level. Our vibe is joyful, supportive, and fun! We’re serious about creating beautiful music and building a space where people feel connected. Whether you’re here to sing your heart out, meet new people, or just try something new, you’ll find a warm and affirming community here. No diva energy, just good tunes and great people.

When and where do you perform?

We typically do 3 concerts per year, in November, December and May. See our upcoming events page for more details about our planned performances. There may be further opportunities, and we are available for national anthems or other bookings.
